MICHELE NELSON
Holds a B.A in Behavioral Science from National Louis
University, and has been in the aesthetic industry for since 2000 as a licensed aesthetician, and 2005 as an aesthetic educator, specializing in Mature skincare solutions. Michele says that "My most proudest moments in this industry is being able to give back to young aspiring aestheticians as well as knowing that she is able to enhance lives through skincare."
BRUCE POWELL
Is a certified and licensed massage therapist specializing in pain relief and relaxation. He is a 1995 graduate of Chicago School of Massage Therapy. He is highly skilled in various modalities of massage including
reflexology.
TYNA CHILDS
Is a licensed cosmetologist in the art of nail and skincare. Tyna has been providing services since 1989, and her longevity in the industry has proved invaluable. Tyna's strength lies in"education" she says it's a key focus for customer service and client satisfaction.
LAURA MCGUAN
Is a licensed aesthetician specializing in hair removal services through waxing. Laura has been in the industry since 1997 and has been apart of the Bettye O. team since. Brazilian waxing and eyebrow design is two of her specialties. Laura's quote for hair removal is "Its never too much hair, only not enough."
In 1978 Bettye Odom introduced the concept of total skin care to the Chicago african american community after her return from studying in Paris, France. Today, Bettye O., Inc. is the premier and most imitated Day Spa in Chicago. The Spa offers skin care treatments, body massages, manicures, pedicures,hydrotherapy, as well as a full line of skin care products, "Skins of Colour" which addresses the concerns of all people of color. Registered nurse, actress, model, talk show host, school lecturer, entrepreneur, author and mother are the many facets of the career of Bettye Odom.
She attended Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee. After Fisk , she attended Meharry Medical College, where she received her B.S. degree in Nursing Education. She also did a year of graduate work at Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and is a member of The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Her nursing career included two years in the United States Army Nurse Corps as a 1st Lieutenant. While in New York, Ms. Odom attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She has appeared on stage in New York as well as Chicago. Her first professional experience on television was in a network commercial. In 1966 she was cast in a TV Pilot program called Night Watch. She has appeared in several films: Mickey One, starring Warren Beatty. During 1967 and 1968 Bettye hosted a one-hour luncheon show broadcast from Chicago's Lake Meadows Restaurant over radio station WBEE.
From February 1969 until February 1974, she co-hosted Channel 5's (WMAQ-NBC TV) weekly Sunday in Chicago series of information services and features. Since 1970 she has lectured continually to high school students regarding careers in vocational and professional fields. Included in her lectures is an emphasis on self-motivation and confidence. Students are made aware of the various job opportunities available as well as the educational requirements needed to obtain such jobs.
In 1980 she received the Kizzy Award for her outstanding public image. In 1984 she received the Meharry Medical College's "President's Award." She has served on the American Federation of Radio & Television Artists (1972-1988), the South Shore Y.M.C.A. (1972-1979), a current member of the Aestheticians International, Inc., Esthetics America and CIDESCO USA.
In addition to all of the above accomplishments she presently mentors those who aspire to be spa owners.

APPOINTMENTS
Being on time for appointments are greatly appreciated, So that you may receive your full service and so our other guests are not inconvenienced. Arriving a minimum of 20 minutes prior to your appointment allows you time to check in. You may relax in our Serenity room and enjoy beverages prior to or after services.
RESERVATIONS
We suggest making all Spa reservations at least 72 hours in advance.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Because your Spa services are reserved for you, we ask that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel or re-schedule. 50% of the value of your service will be charged for cancellations with less than 8 hours notice. Day Spa packages and massages require 24-hour notice. All no shows are charged full value.
AGE
The Spa and its facilities are for guest 16 years and older, however guest younger than 16 may enjoy Spa Services.
GIFT CERTIFICATES
A Spa Gift Certificate is ideal for any special occasion or as a thank you gift. Phone and mail orders available. Certificates are good for 6 months.
CLIENT NO-SHOWS
Client NO-SHOWS do hurt us. A full fee will be charged to your Credit Cards for missed Appointments (Gift Certificates will be forfeited). This helps us insure personal attentive service to all of our guest.
GRATUITY
If you were happy with the service you received, it is customary to give a 15 to 20% gratuity to the Therapist or Technician.
